The Squash and Tennis sections of Nunthorpe and Marton Playing Fields Association (NMPFA) are excited to announce a proposal to merge, creating the new Nunthorpe Marton Squash Tennis and Rackets Club. This merger represents a key step in NMPFA’s strategy to revitalize and relaunch the Tennis section, bringing enhanced opportunities for the communities of Nunthorpe and Middlesbrough.

To ensure the merger reflects the wishes of both memberships, an electronic vote is currently underway. Members of both sections have been invited to cast their votes, with the results expected to be announced on 24th January 2025.

The proposed merger will create a united and modernized club, offering a broader range of facilities and opportunities for squash, tennis and other racket sports including table tennis and padel/racketball . It is part of an ambitious plan to attract new members, enhance community engagement and invest in the future of racket sports in the region.

As part of the relaunch, exciting developments for the tennis section are planned over the coming months. These will include improved facilities, expanded coaching programs and new events to inspire players of all ages and abilities.

The NMPFA is committed to creating a vibrant, inclusive space for sport and recreation. The formation of the Nunthorpe Marton Squash Tennis and Rackets Club will ensure that both squash and tennis thrive for years to come.

We encourage all squash and tennis members to participate in the vote by 23rd January and help shape the future of their club.
