The Cleveland School Sport Partnership CIC was delighted to host a fantastic golf event for primary school children yesterday, bringing together over 120 young participants for a day of fun, learning and sporting activity. Blessed with great weather, the children took part in various golf-themed challenges, enjoying every moment.
Supporting the event were junior Sports Leaders from Nunthorpe Academy, who played a key role in setting up and assisting throughout the day. Their enthusiasm and commitment ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for all. Even a minor bump on the nose for one young leader – thanks to the use of safe plastic clubs – did nothing to dampen the spirit of the day!
Richie Easton, Leadership and Competition Manager, tells us more …
Wade Tovey, Vice Chair of Nunthorpe & Marton Playing Fields Association, was thrilled to see so many children making use of the facility, highlighting the community’s commitment to encouraging youth participation in sport. “It was fantastic to welcome so many young people and provide them with a fun and active experience. Our facilities extend beyond golf, offering Squash, Tennis, Table Tennis, and soon Pickleball, with Padel courts also on the horizon. These sports can inspire young people to stay active and enjoy the many physical and social benefits that come with participation.”
Richie Easton, Leadership and Competition Manager at Cleveland School Sport Partnership, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the importance of introducing children to new sports in a fun and engaging way. “Seeing so many young people enjoying themselves is exactly what school sport is about. We look forward to hosting more events like this and continuing to promote the joy of sport within our community.”
With plans for further events and new sporting opportunities on the way, Nunthorpe & Marton Playing Fields Association remains committed to inspiring the next generation through sport.
