Our Journey Over Recent Months..

Looking back at 2025, we made great strides in bringing our community together through fun events and new projects. As we step into 2026, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with fresh ideas and partnerships. Our focus remains on creating a vibrant space for everyone, while offering sporting and recreational activities for all.. Let’s make this year even more memorable together. May 2025

VE Day Celebration

We kicked off the season with a vibrant festival to celebrate the 80th Anniversay of VE Day. In conjunction with Nunthorpe Parish Council and Middlesborough Borough Council it brought together over 800 participants from the local community, celebrating VE Day  sports and camaraderie.

June 2025

Service Level Agreements

In June, working with our sporting section chairman and long with the charities legal team , we formulated and launched formal service level agreements (SLA’s) as a legal contract between sections and the charity , a real first for the charity underpinning a new sense of direction and all parties working together  

July 2025

Extensive Greenfield Maintenance

In July , working with Nunthorpe Athletic Junior Football club we instigated extensive pitch repairs , consisting of further improved drainage to finally resolve the historic drainage problems , purchased  over 30 tonnes of topsoil , sand and new seed to improve pitch playing conditions and supported the football club in installing portable cabins for match day refreshments. A great team effort

August 2025

60th Anniversary Garden Fete

In August , one of the highlights of the year was we organised the biggest community event in recent history . To celebrate our 60th year and to recognise Lady Harrison’s legacy & generosity, working with Nunthorpe Parish Council and Community Greenways.

Nearly 3000 people on a lovely summers day attended to celebrate her legacy, it was a opportunity to showcase our sporting sections and having good old family fun day with stalls, Local emergency services roadshows , Bands, Donkey rides, traditional  garden fete games and the social club providing disco dancing into the small hours - A fanstatic family event 

September 2025

InPost Storage Locker Agreement

Following extensive discussions with Middlesbrough Borough Council and InPost, we are thrilled to announce the successful negotiation for the installation of a vital community facility. This enhancement will empower local residents and members to minimise their carbon footprint while meeting the growing demand for flexible postage and collection services. Mark your calendars for our Go Live date in December 2025!

November 2025

Further improvements to fire safety on site

We have undertaken a comprehensive upgrade of our emergency lighting system and have installed independent external fire safety monitoring. These enhancements not only modernise our existing equipment but also prioritise the safety of our members, staff, and visitors. This proactive approach to maintenance is driving the charity forward, ensuring a secure environment for everyone.

Extensive on site repairs & Maintenance

We implemented a series of much needed repairs and improvements ranging from renewing fire doors within the Rackets and Football sections and making our on site British Heart Foundation defibrillator available to the general public for the first time.

Feb & March 2026

Grounds Equipment Audit & Our Very own White Lining Robot !

Following a comprehensive review and audit of all our greenfields equipment with the grounds team, we are excited to announce a significant investment in a state-of-the-art White Lining Robot. This remarkable piece of technology enables our grounds team to maintain our pitches to the highest standards. Thanks to the collaboration with Turf Tank, Nunthorpe Athletic Football Club, and our dedicated groundsman Stewart Vickers, you can now spot our robot diligently at work each week. It's one of only a handful in the North and keep an eye out for our new tractor as well!

April 2026

Charities New Kitchen

Thanks to generous funding from the Football Foundation, we are thrilled to announce the commencement of a complete refurbishment of our kitchen facilities. In collaboration with our partner, Ian Stevenson Building Services, we are undertaking a comprehensive overhaul of both the access corridors and the kitchen itself. The refurbishment is being expertly managed by Howdens of Whitby, and we are excited to share that soon the charity will be offering a delightful selection of light snacks and refreshments for everyone at the Recreation Club.

The Next 6 Months Ahead .

Exciting times ahead but can only happen if maintain our support with members and volunteers pulling together  .

Upgrade to facilities

In conjunction with Sport England and scheduled for mid part of 2026, this exiting project will upgrade all toilets and water usage equipment , this is part of our water sustainability project and will benefit all our members , sporting sections and the environment. Further discussion to be held but agreement in place for 2026 completion

January 2026

Installation of a new on site kitchen

Join us in May  to celebrate and completely renew our on site kitchen. Working with The Football Foundation and Howdens Game Changer progamme we look forard to completly upgrading and improving our kitchen facilities .The introduction of a new kitchen for the charity which be used for fundraising and supporting the expansion of our community and recreational programs.

 

Committee planning month

In May & June  we invite committee chairman and treasurers to review the previous 12 months and work together to implemnt the new budget for the charity for the next 12 months, all with a view to help us support each ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.

March 2026

NMPFA Annual AGM

Its a busy month in May ...Our annual AGM May 21st  18:00 will be held  and will bring together an exciting update that has taken legal team nearly 18 months to resolve  and we will be presnting our accounts and statements . We would love as many people to attend as possible . Members and residents have a important part to play in the direction of our charity..

What a fantastic Firework event that the recreation club held in November, so good to see hundreds of people enjoying themselves in such a safe & welcoming enviroment , great event and will attend next year .
