2026 Winner - ERIC DAVISON

During the Colin Mohan Memorial Day celebration and fun day we are delighted to present the Kirtland Hinton Award 2026 to Eric Davison, recognising his outstanding contribution to NMPFA and his dedication to our Quoits section over many years. The decision to award Eric this year’s honour was made following a vote among the current NMPFA Trustees and all of our Sporting and Recreation Section Chairmen. The vote was overwhelmingly in Eric’s favour — a fitting reflection of the respect and appreciation he has earned across the whole organisation. Eric has quite simply carried the torch for Quoits at NMPFA, keeping the section going through challenging times and ensuring that this important part of our heritage and community spirit remains alive. His contribution goes well beyond the Quoits pitch. Eric and his band have supported numerous NMPFA functions over the years, providing music and entertainment and helping create the community atmosphere that makes NMPFA special. 🎶 And this year, we are seeing the results of that commitment. With new members joining the Quoits section, Eric and his team are now competing in their respective leagues, bringing renewed enthusiasm, participation and energy to the section. This is exactly what the reinvigorated NMPFA is all about — respecting our heritage, welcoming new members and creating a thriving future for our sporting and recreation sections. 👏 Eric, thank you for your years of commitment, service and dedication to NMPFA.  Chairman Chris Foggin had the honour of presenting Eric with the Kirtland Hinton Award on behalf of the Trustees, Section Chairmen and the entire NMPFA community. 🏆 A thoroughly deserved award. Congratulations, Eric! 💚 NMPFA — Building on our heritage, creating our future.

Voices from Our Charity

I thought it was really important that we recognise individuals who support the charity by their actions. Organisation like ours can only thrive with everyone pulling together , it pleasing that the trustees are in a position to recognise fantastic support and provide this award on annual basis

Chris Foggin, Chairman

Im really chuffed that this award ahas been reinstated and I've been a member for as long as i can remember.

Its really pleasing that i have been nominated for club that i love.

Alan Calvert 2025 Winner

When elected in 2024, I found the award had been defered for a number of years and on discussion we thought it was really important to reinstate the award that has been in place since 1980.

Its important we recognise the charities founding principles and recognise individuals that have such a positive impact

Our Roll Of Honour

The W. Kirtland Hinton Rose Bowl Award is one of the most respected recognition awards presented by the Nunthorpe & Marton Playing Fields Association (NMPFA). Established in 1980, the award honours individuals whose dedication, commitment and personal efforts have made a significant contribution to supporting the charity, its members, facilities and sporting community.

Named in recognition of W. Kirtland Hinton, who played a key role in the early development and vision of the Association, the Rose Bowl celebrates those who go above and beyond through service, leadership, community spirit and ongoing support of the NMPFA.

The award is presented to individuals whose actions positively reflect the values of the Association and who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving opportunities for sport, recreation and community engagement across the NMPFA. Recipients are recognised not simply for a single achievement, but for their sustained efforts, reliability and willingness to support others for the benefit of the wider community.

Over the decades, the W. Kirtland Hinton Rose Bowl Award has become an enduring symbol of appreciation and gratitude within the Association, recognising the volunteers and supporters whose dedication helps ensure the continued success and future of the NMPFA.
